Figures from ABTA show that 4.7 million Brits headed for a winter break during the Christmas and New Year period last year.

Whether you’re visiting one of Europe’s many Christmas markets, hitting the slopes on a skiing trip or jetting off for some winter sun don’t forget to arrange your Travel Insurance.

Travel Insurance

Don’t be left out in the cold and remember to arrange your Travel Insurance as soon as you have booked your trip – it’s one less thing to remember and you’ll receive cover from the second that you pay.

Cancellation cover

We understand that some circumstances are out of your control; a slip on an icy pavement or illness could mean that you are no longer able to travel on your planned trip. Having Travel Insurance will mean that you can reclaim the cost of your holiday if the circumstances were unforeseen.

On single trip insurance your cancellation cover starts immediately and for annual multi-trip insurance you can choose the start date, you’ll then be covered for all of your trips for the next 12 months.

Medical expenses

Medical cover is one of the most important parts of your Travel Insurance policy. It could cost you thousands if you have an accident and don’t have any cover in place, but remember to declare any pre-existing medical conditions when arranging your policy.

Just take a look at these eye watering claims paid in recent months:

  • £2,108 following a swimming injury in Greece.

  • £7,258 for treatment of a broken wrist in Spain.

  • £15,000 after a broken leg on a European cruise.

  • £19,187 after a fall in Turkey.

  • £36,162 to cover a pacemaker fitted in Cyprus.

  • £73,000 for surgery in the Dominican Republic.

Baggage and Valuables

All policies have different baggage and valuables limits so it’s very important to check these when arranging your policy. We can cover you for up to £3,000 if your baggage is lost or stolen, if you need cover for something in particular please ask us when arranging your policy.

Winter Sports

If you are heading away for a skiing trip then don’t forget to ask about winter sports cover.

You’ll receive cover for a range of activities as standard such as skiing and snowboarding, including off piste. As well as cover for damage to your ski equipment and hire of replacement skis if yours are delayed in transit.

Don’t delay – get your cover today.
