Heading to Australia? Don’t forget your Travel Insurance
Australia reopened its borders to fully vaccinated tourists in February and after almost two years, Brits will finally be able to visit family and friends or take a long-awaited holiday down under.
Tourism Australia managing director Phillipa Harrison said: “With travel to Australia on pause for nearly two years, we are excited to be once again welcoming international travellers back to our shores from 21 February 2022 and sharing with them all the incredible experiences that visitors love – from our world-class natural beauty and wildlife, our food and wine, and our welcoming people”
It’s important to arrange Travel Insurance as soon as you book your holiday to Australia, so you are covered should something not go to plan and you need to cancel*.
You’ll also be covered for your baggage and emergency medical treatment you may need abroad, as although there is a reciprocal healthcare arrangement in place, there are a number of exclusions that you will need Travel Insurance to cover, such as ambulances, medical evacuation, medicines if you’re not an inpatient in a hospital.
The reciprocal agreement does not cover pre-existing medical conditions either, so ensure you delcare these on your policy.
